East Brunswick has a multitude of housing choices on the eastern side of town, with single family homes, townhouses, condominium and apartment complexes. The western side is the sparsely developed 6.7 square mile Rural Preservation Zone. Most homes in East Brunswick are single family residences. Current real estate values for single family homes range from $150,000 to over $1,000,000 for a custom home with tennis court and pool.
The East Brunswick school system, is one of New Jersey’s finest. The system has more than 8,500 students and over 90% of its graduates go on to higher education studies. The high school has been named a Star School by the State of New Jersey.
Recreational offerings are diverse and include one of the township’s star attractions, Crystal Springs Aquatic Facility, a blue water swimming area with a lazy river, Olympic size lap pool, several wading pools, and a water slide. In addition, the Township boasts two private swim clubs, many tennis courts, five private health clubs and fourteen public parks on 600 acres. East Brunswick’s Library has been recognized as one of the finest in the country. It recently became the busiest library in the state. The Library operates its own television cable outlet, Channel 3- EBTV, which is widely viewed by town residents and features various Township activities.
MEDICAL ARTS COMMUNITY
Like the Raritan River that borders it on the north, East Brunswick is on the move! Proudly hailed as one of New Jersey’s 25 great towns (NJ Monthly Magazine, March ’99), East Brunswick’s 22.5 square miles is home to a diverse population of approximately 45,000. A strategic location and a progressive outlook have fostered a dynamic growth of attractive and desirable residential developments, an excellent school system, shopping centers, state-of-the-art office complexes, and medical services. Development in the center of the township, away from the heavily traveled and developed commercial area on Route 18, has seen an influx of doctors, dentists, and other ancillary medical providers in the Cranbury Road section.
Currently there are 228 doctors, representing every specialty, with office space in the Township. The University Radiology Group, P.C., Central Jersey’s largest radiology group, consisting of 51 radiologists and doctors, is headquartered in the Township and has recently expanded its facility to house a second MRI diagnostic machine. There are 101 dentists with offices in East Brunswick. Physical therapists, ambulance service companies and other medical service providers including 4 medical labs operate offices in the Township as well.
As a service to those who visit this site, the East Brunswick Township has developed a database of Medical Providers based in here. To view the list simply click here.
SENIOR LIVING AT ITS BEST
East Brunswick recognizes the needs of its senior residents. Our Senior Center is barrier free and provides a wide range of services and programs. Transportation is available for those who lack other means of getting there as well as to supermarkets and malls. There are currently 2 subsidized senior living developments with 232 apartments. Three additional facilities are presently proposed which would make available more than 1,000 rental units to the area’s elderly residents. The township also has two operating assisted living facilities with 170 beds and three more are in various stages of development. When completed, East Brunswick will be home to five buildings housing over 300 assisted living residents. In addition, there will be two nursing homes accommodating over 250 residents.
Outreach to the homebound as well as meals on wheels are available.
PREMIUM OFFICE SPACE FOR PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES
Forecasts have shown that East Brunswick’s need for additional professional office space will more than double in the next ten years. While professional office space is presently at a premium in the Township, there are several developments under construction and proposed which will increase the available space by an additional 200,000 square feet in the next two years.
BUSINESS IS BOOMING
The Tower Center Complex includes two office towers, a Hilton Hotel, a convention center and one of the Township’s regional commuter park-and-ride facilities.
The five mile stretch of Route 18 within the township is lined with stores, offices and eating establishments. There are supermarkets, movie theaters, three large and several small shopping malls, the largest of which is the Brunswick Square Mall, a one million square foot complex that recently expanded.
Demand for space has reached an all time high since the recent openings by national retailers, including the opening of a Barnes and Noble outlet in the Brunswick Square Mall, the nation’s first Home Depot’s Villager Hardware Store, Circuit City, The Guitar Center, and Gateway Country.
“East Brunswick continues to provide opportunities for Business and Quality Living thereby making its mark as an ideal setting in which to live, work and play.”
William P. Neary
